Trip to Home Depot!
Before Jess goes gallivanting off to Africa, we took a trip to research supplies, so we could submit a budget to Indy Hall. We decided on the dimensions of the mural being 5' x 12', with that in mind our supply list runs about $209. This included the hardboard and wood framing, six gallons of paint plus primer, and supplies to make the wall mounts. We rounded up to $250 for extra supplies (rollers, paint brushes, etc.) We're making steps to be well on our way.

You might consider MDF (Med. Density Fiberboard) panels...composite material that wouldn't require a frame because of thickness..if you haven't done so, check it out...like plywood but composite material and comes smooth.
