The Process

Here is the progression of our mural. Photos of the finished hanging piece will be up shortly. After creating the initial design, we went through a few changes in background and perspective. Our first background attempts were very busy and muddled. We changed to something a bit more uniform to give emphasis to the buildings. We then altered the perspective from a flat one point, to three point. This gives the buildings more presence, and also goes more with the wacky theme of starfish taking over Philadelphia. The buildings we included were, One Liberty Place, Independence Hall, the Ben Franklin Bridge and National Mechanics. We also made sure Philly's iconic cobblestone were part of the painting. We made transparencies of the drawing, and then projected and traced them on to the panels. We used latex interior house paint to fill in the mural.

I think it looks outstanding. Is it available for photograph? THat's the sort of thing I like to have in my bag of tricks to print on demand for my customers.
